The Gatlic Group was founded by Steven Morris in March of 2006 with a clear vision: to build a merchant services company that local business owners could actually trust. That vision didn't come from thin air — it came from over two decades of firsthand experience navigating the electronic payments industry from the inside out.
As a Certified Payments Professional (CPP) through the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA), a Visa Certified Payment Advisor, and the recipient of the 2011 Payment Consultant of the Year award, Steven had spent years watching businesses across the country struggle with confusing contracts, hidden fees, and non-existent support from national providers. He knew there had to be a better way.
Starting with a handful of clients in the Oklahoma City area, The Gatlic Group quickly grew through word-of-mouth, earning a reputation for honest pricing, reliable technology, and unparalleled customer service. Steven's deep expertise in interchange optimization, processor contract analysis, B2B payment structures, and complex underwriting gave the company a distinct advantage.
Over the years, he has personally advised hundreds of businesses across retail, hospitality, service, and B2B verticals, collectively processing over $20 million per month in payment volume.
